The Horn of Africa Initiative's Regional Economic Corridor Project focuses on upgrading the Addis-Djibouti Corridor, a vital trade route between Ethiopia and Djibouti. The core scope involves transforming 142 kilometers of road from Miesso to Dire Dawa into a four-lane motorway, enhancing transport capacity, safety, and efficiency to support Ethiopia’s access to the Port of Djibouti, which handles over 90% of the country’s maritime trade.
