Tanzania Moves On Major Rail Projects
Progress made on standard and metre-gauge railways.
The government of Tanzania has in recent months advanced on major railway projects involving the construction of 190km of standard-gauge and 471.4km of metre-gauge track.In early August, Burundi’s President Evariste Ndayishimiye and Tanzania’s Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa oversaw the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 300km standard-gauge railway (SGR)
