South Africa’s Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has awarded Sun Water East London a Rand 60 million (US$3.2 million) contract to construct and operate a solar-powered desalination plant at the Port of East London in the East Cape Province.The seawater desalination plant will produce 0.5 million litres a day.
