Nigeria: Oyo State Independent Power Project to Bridge Power Gaps
Oyo State in Nigeria has launched an Independent Power Plant (IPP) project to meet its power needs.
This 11 MW plant consists of a 10 MW gas-based generator and a 1MW solar PV solution.
Elektron Energy will implement this project. It will cost around NGN8.27 billion (approx. US$20 million), and is expected to be completed within 6 to 8 months.
Oyo State has constantly faced challenges in power supply.
