Namibia Gets US$139 Million For Grid Project
New transmission line and BESS facility to support integration of renewables.
The Namibian government has secured World Bank funding of Namibian dollar 2.6 billion (US$138.5 million) to support the strengthening and expansion of the country's transmission network and facilitate the integration of renewable energy into the grid.The Transmission Expansion and Energy Storage (TEES) project is Namibia's first World Bank-backed energy scheme
