Construction of 'Largest U.S. Consulate in the World' commences in Lagos, Nigeria
A groundbreaking ceremony has been held to officially mark the beginning of construction on a new, modern U.S. Consulate in Lagos.
The ground-breaking ceremony for construction of the new Consulate was performed on Thursday, 31 March 2022, by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria Mary Beth Leonard and U.S. Consul General Claire Pierangelo.
When completed, it will be the largest U.S. Consulate in the world. Located on a 12.2
