Construction contract awarded for Egypt’s first vertical-lift bridge
Hassan Allam Roads and Bridges has been awarded the contract to construct a 1.35 km long dual railway vertical-lift bridge in Egypt, along the Nile Barrage area, crossing the Nile River.
The contract was awarded to Hassan Allam Roads and Bridges in January 2022 by Egypt's General Authority for Roads and Bridges.
The bridge will be Egypt's first vertical lift-bridge, and on completion will connect the Qalyubiya and Menoufiya governorates through Qalyub, Menouf, and Tanta.
