Charles Malek
Director of Structural and Bridge Engineering, Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners), Lebanon

Charles Malek brings over 25 years of expertise in leading design teams for strategic projects across the Middle East and Africa. With a background in reinforced concrete and earthquake engineering, he champions innovation in construction, leveraging digital technologies and advanced techniques for safer, more efficient, and sustainable outcomes. 

Charles' projects portfolio spans conventional buildings, bridges, high-rises, and special and complex structures with a focus on digital technologies and additive manufacturing.

Dr. Theophilus Shittu
UNESCO Chair in Earthen Architecture, Building Cultures, and Sustainable Development

Dr. Theophilus Shittu is UNESCO Chair in Earthen Architecture, Building Cultures, and Sustainable Development, and serves on the ICOMOS' International Scientific Committee on Earthen Architectural Heritage (ISCEAH). He is also a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for BSc Architectural Technology at the University of Northampton, UK. 

His expertise encompasses architecture, architectural technology, construction technology, and management.

Professor Hussein Mohammed
Professor of Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria

Prof. Hussein Mohammed is Professor of Civil Engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He has published widely in the areas of Engineering Materials and the Operational and Performance Evaluation of Engineering Structures.

With a strong commitment to professional excellence, his expertise extends beyond academia and he has provided consultancy and project management services on major infrastructure projects including the Akwa-Ibom International Airport on which he was the Project Manager.

Grace Atieno Odhiambo
Head of Design at Cubes and Containers Design, Kenya

Grace Atieno Odhiambo is an accomplished Interior Designer and is the Head of Design at Cubes and Containers Design, an Interior Design company based in Nairobi, Kenya. She specializes in the conversion of shipping containers into creative living spaces, showcasing her expertise in tiny space design.

Her dedication to sustainability in both architecture and interior design has been a guiding principle throughout her career. 

Ronald Mbiu
Quantity Surveyor and Construction Project Manager, Kenya

Ronald Mbiu is a consultant Quantity Surveyor and Construction Project Manager based in Nairobi, Kenya. He specialises in providing sustainable design and construction services in building and infrastructure projects through the incorporation of biophilic design, natural daylighting and the use of sustainable materials.

Ronald is also passionate about promoting sustainability awareness in the built environment. He publishes the Building Green Construction newsletter, which provides insights on building green using sustainable products and processes without compromising on future needs.
