Malawi Launches Construction of Solar Plant
The 20MW plant is being built over two phases.
Malawi’s Electricity Generation Company (EGENCO) launched the construction of a 10MW solar power plant in the Salima district on 22 November.
The contractor for the project is China’s Chint Electrical Company.
The US$14 million project is expected to take 18 months to complete. The power will be evacuated to the national grid
